Wheatley Cemetery, Montgomery County, Tennessee

Location:

Turn off of Peachers Mill Rd. at Jim Durrett's and proceed past his driveway along a lane which leads back to an equipment shed, etc. The old house is still there behind the equipment shed, covered with weeds and vines.  The cemetery is about 130 yards in back of the house in a stand of trees. The cemetery is more to the west side of the grove of trees.   We did find numerous old posts around part of the cemetery.  A few of the posts still had some wire attached to them.  Only 3 tombstones are present.  There are over 75 graves in the cemetery.  GPS Coordinates:  N36.60258, W87.38348.  A map is attached.

Albert G. Wheatley, Born in Culpepper County Va.  May 14, 1807, Died Aug. 2, 1851

Albert F. son of A. & M. Wheatley, Born Oct 15, 1851, Died July 12, 1852

Perry G. Smoot, Died Dec. 16, 1867, Aged 60 years
